Welcome
I am so glad you're here.
Seeking therapy can feel pretty overwhelming, even if we know it’s what we need. There are hundreds of therapists to choose from, and it can feel tough to make such an important decision when we're already feeling drained, foggy, or just straight up
over it.
The good news is that choosing the right therapist is not as hard as it seems. All it takes is connecting to the feeling that says "this person gets it". So feel free to tune into that inner-knowing and read on.
Let's see if I'm the right fit for you.
A Little About Me
My name is Janine (she/they) and I am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers, Nova Scotia College of Social Workers, and Alberta College of Social Workers. I am qualified to support clients across Ontario, Nova Scotia, and Alberta (via video or telephone).
As a therapist, I create an inviting therapeutic space through an innate warmth and unwavering compassion. I believe in everyone's right to be empowered in their own process, which is why I aim to use my skills to guide you in the direction that YOU want to go.
It's your life, your healing.
I am also a human with a big heart and diverse life experiences, which helps me access a deep empathy with everyone I meet. I identify as queer, non-monogamous, a person in recovery, dog and cat Mom, and live music lover. It truly is great to e-meet you.
I am privileged to live and practice on The Dish with One Spoon Territory (Treaty 13), the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenasaunee and the Wendat peoples. One way I practice the values of this treaty agreement, is by offering a number of sliding scale spots.

FAQs
Do you offer in-person therapy?
At this time my practice is solely virtual. I do not provide in-person therapy.
Do you direct-bill insurance?
I provide a receipt for payment of services, which you then submit to your insurance. I do not direct-bill.
MSW therapists like myself are very often covered by insurance. Please inquire with your insurance company to see if this is included in your package.
When will I start to see results?
Emotional pain can be pretty uncomfortable, so it's common to hope for a "quick fix". It’s important to remember that lasting change takes time. I will periodically check-in with you to ensure we are on your desired path, and support your therapy goals in any way that I can.
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
I have a limited number of sliding scale spots, designated for low-income folx.
Please inquire within to see if there is a spot available.
